How Zinc can help to cure cold?

Common cold is exactly what its name suggests, an illness that is known to strike people very often in the form of coughs, headaches, sneezing and fever. In order to battle such frequent onsets of the sickness, many people opt for Zinc as a form of treatment. However, satisfactory results of diminishing the cold entirely after using Zinc as medication varies greatly between individuals. Some may cure swiftly, while others may not. Many studies have been carried out to prove the efficiency of Zinc in being able to cure cold. For instance, early 2008 researches have shown that Zinc is quite potent in doing so, as their intake shortens the length of the cold phase and also lessens its impacts, as compared to Placebo. On the other hand, 2007 studies state that Zinc imposed less satisfactory outcomes on people, when taken in nasal spray. In addition to that, Zinc in the form of intranasal homeopathic therapies causes loss of smell, in other words Nosmia, which is why the U.S Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning in 2009 to consumers, to avoid using such Zinc products. However, Zinc is the form of tablets and lozenges is known to induce beneficial results, as a recent 2009 study shows that the amount of dosages is the reason why differences occur within people using Zinc.
