Which H1N1 Flu Vaccine is Right for pregnant women?

It is very natural for women who are pregnant and yet have been infected by the H1N1 flu to be very concerned about their own health as well as their babies’. In order to reduce all the threats of the H1N1 flu, it is recommended for expectant mothers to get the H1N1 flu vaccine as soon as possible and to get the right one. While pregnant women may be reluctant to take the vaccine, it is important to get it and know which the appropriate one to get is. The H1N1 flu vaccine can be of two types – the adjuvanted and the unadjuvanted and the latter of the two vaccines is usually recommended for all expectant mothers at any stage while they are pregnant. However, the unadjuvanted flu vaccine may not always be readily available for all mothers. In this case, you should consider getting a dose of the adjuvanted vaccine, which involves a substance called an adjuvant that is an amalgamation of water, natural oil and Viatmin E, and helps to boost immune response. Just keep in mind, that the earlier the immunity, the better it is for your and your child’s health and the lower the risks. So, be sure to try and get the unadjuvanted vaccine as soon as it is an available option for you. If, however, you have a chronic disease like diabetes or asthma or you are over twenty weeks pregnant, the risk of suffering from severe complications is greater. In such a case, you should consider getting the adjuvanted vaccine which is more readily available.
