What are the Side Effects of Tylenol Cold & Flu Gel Caps?

The cold and the flu are two of the most common conditions affecting the people in the United States. Almost every American adult is likely to suffer from one or both of the conditions at least once every year. The situation is much worse for children, who have to stay away from school and education.

Both these conditions have similar symptoms – such as weakness, persistent coughing, persistent sneezing, and pain in the throat, headache, and blockage of the nasal passages, runny nose and difficulty in breathing – that can be annoying. As a result, a lot of people have resorted to Tylenol Cold & Flu to get instant relief from cold. The drug can alleviate all the symptoms of the cold and the flu. How? The answer can be found in its active ingredient; the gel includes phenylephrine HCI (which can open up breathing airways), dextromethorphan HBr (which can reduce persistent coughing) and acetaminophen (which provide relief from pain and fever).

However, the drug is not without its side effects. For instance, if it is used over a long period of time, it can cause harm to the liver. In a few cases, it also causes pain in the stomach, excessive fatigue, mood swings and constipation. Moreover, the active ingredient acetaminophen can cause upset in the stomach, excessive loss of sweat and lack of appetite.
