How colds and pregnancy are related? |
Pregnancy is a wonderful joyride for women about to experience it for the first time but things can go pretty shaky if they aren’t careful in maintaining their health as failure to do so may result in deterioration their wellbeing along with the baby’s. Episodes of colds are a common scenario when it comes to illnesses related with pregnancy. Colds being one of the most widespread illnesses are very prone to attack pregnant women as at that point of time they are in a vulnerable state because their bodies go through hormonal changes. Pregnant women can catch colds very easily as the weak state of their physical immunity often fails to act properly in the new surroundings. The strength of their immune system lessens as the body lowers its defenses so that no harm comes to the baby. Pregnant women are known to sleep inappropriately, have mood swings, go through food habit changes, and get fever all which accounts for direct contact with a cold. The symptoms of cold and pregnancy induced aftermaths are often similar. Headaches and nausea are indications of pregnancy and often link to the onset of a cold which further causes more signs of illness in forms of fever, cough and congestion if not treated properly. |
